THE WORD “METRIC” is defined as:

Something set up as an example against which others of the same type are compared

A standard for measuring or evaluating something, especially one that uses figures or statistics, or simply

OPERATING METRICS INCLUDE such things as employee productivity and discipline and retention rates, measured execution of planned strategies, and compliance with applicable laws and environmental responsibilities. Customer satisfaction metrics are measured by surveys, customer growth and customer retention rates. Good operating and customer metrics are essential to running a successful business, but not things that are found in a business plan.
